New Community Profile Brochure Available

The new Scottsville Allen County Community Profile Brochure is now available from the Chamber of Commerce and city and county government.

New Retail Business Growth in the Community

A new Dollar General Market Store is under construction in Scottsville.  The 24,610 SF facility will be located on Burnley Road at US 231 and US31E.  Access to the new business will be from Veterans Memorial Highway (US 231) at the new signalized intersection near US 31 E. 

New Service Business Growth in the Community

In addition to the Dollar General Market store on the north side of Veterans Memorial Highway you can also see earthwork taking place on property located on the south side of the highway. Mike Miller and Charles Haven (CHMM, LLC) have recently announced the development of a Huddle House restaurant to be located at the end of Lois Moore Drive. CHMM, LLC will develop the restaurant on a 3 acre tract with hopes of attracting at least one to two new businesses to the site.  Access to Lois Moore Drive is from the Bowling Green Road (US 3241) and the High School access road. A new stop sign will be placed at the school entrance to create a two way stop which will improve access to and from Lois Moore Drive.

 

The J.M. Smucker Company to Build New Facility In Scottsville, KY

The City of Scottsville’s economic basis is growing. On December 20, 2002, the J.M. Smucker Company announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art facility to produce Smucker’s Uncrustables® a line of thaw’n serve peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Smucker expects to break ground on a 50-acre site in Spring 2003, with production to begin in Spring 2004.  The new $51 Million facility is expected to bring 150 new jobs to the Scottsville area and contribute approximately $4 million per year in wages and benefits.  (You can read the entire press release here).
