Veterans Memorial Highway (US 231) to be Completed by September 2005

State Highway officials indicate that the New 4 lane highway between Scottsville and Bowling Green will be completed and open for traffic by September, 2005. A ribbon cutting will be held. More news to follow.

Single Zone County Ordinance to have Fiscal Court Hearing on June 30, 2005

The Allen County Fiscal Court will hold a Special Called meeting on June 30, 2005 at 6:00 pm to discuss the Single Zone County Ordinance as presented by the Planning Commission. 

A single zone ordinance will create a single “Rural” zone for the county (seperate and apart from the City of Scottsville Zoning Districts) were any and all land uses are permitted. All Single Family and Agricultural land use will continue as they are with no restrictions or interference.  In contrast all new commercial or industrial activities will be required to obtain a Conditional Use Permit to insure they meet minimal requirements in regards to parking, lighting, drainage, signage and environmental standards.
